The veil is another tradition that originally symbolized youthfulness. Brides used it as a symbol of purity. For this reason the bride arrives at the altar of her father’s arm, covered with the veil that the groom retires on the altar.
Something borrowed, means that happiness could be attracted by using something from another happy friend. The borrowed symbolized friendship, obtaining and attracting happiness.
This tradition means that seeing each other before the ceremony will cause economic, sentimental problems and finally the breakup of marriage. From the Middle Ages it was established that bride and groom, despite living together, had to spend the night before the wedding at the home of their parents.
